The Blue KnightsŪ is
a non-profit fraternal organization consisting of active and retired law
enforcement men & women who enjoy riding motorcycles. In the Spring of
1974, several law enforcement officers* from the Bangor, Maine (USA)
area met and and formed a small, local motorcycle club. The rest, as
they say, is history.
As of 1 June 2009, we have 599 chapters and almost 20,000 members in 29
countries.
England XI which covers the Staffordshire area was formed by Geoff
Martin in 1999 who was formally a member of England I. The chapter now
boasts a membership of 30, consisting of both Police and Prison officers
from Staffordshire, West Midlands and its borders.
The chapter are very proactive with of local charities, and can be found
working with the 'Star Bikers' organisation with the Easter Egg Run, and
Christmas Toy Run for local children.
Every year the chapter has a Law Ride for “COPS” and is proud to be part
of this event which takes place in our chapter area, this commences in
the form of a “Law Ride” from Police HQ in Stafford and has a function
at Alrewas National Arboretum near Lichfield, (See links page for web
site)
The Blue KnightsŪ also join law enforcement personnel from all over the
world in promoting a positive image for motorcyclists, motorcycle safety
and riding as a family recreation.
